Student and Colleague comments 2019

Hi Mr L how are you doing. I just want to say thank you for being my teacher for the past 2 terms. I have enjoyed you being my teacher and I think you have got me prepared for Casebrook and I am going to miss you so much. You have helped me with my writing, you have encouraged me to do my best at anything and strive to do my best. You have taught me some new strategies for my Maths and I use these strategies in my work. You have made me more ready then I was to leave this wonderful school and I am going to miss you so much.

I hope you have a safe and a happy Christmas with your family and I can't wait to come back here one day and see how you are going. Merry Christmas and a Happy new year to you and your new and improved class

Kind regards Hayden Room 16

Kim Cribb Mark Lorenzen - just thinking how lucky we are to have a teacher that makes this sort of effort to inspire literacy for so many. A student in our learning hub that has very limited academic/cognitive skills, who doesn't 'look' like she is taking much in, can produce a piece of artwork that has so much detail that she can share and talk about. Thank you so much. Thoroughly perfect novel for us to have shared with our students in the Naki.

Critical Literacy 2021 TOD

Today's TOD was on Critical Literacy, Critical Thinking and Cultural responsiveness. The critical literacy and thinking parts were the challenging parts for me - I am keen to learn more about these two in particular.

Hi Sue and Kris

I'm touching base as we near the end of the year and I understand you are coming to crunch time with regard to your discussions around how next years classes will shape up.

Regarding ______, Megan and I would like to raise the possibility of finding him a spot in a male teachers class again next year if at all possible.

We both feel that the last two years with Mr L have been really good for ____ and it's been awesome to see how well he is progressing in many areas.

We wonder if another year with a similar male influence would be great for ____ as he heads towards the senior school and continues to mature.

Any opportunity to discuss this with you would be very much appreciated and thanks for your consideration.

Regards,

Troy

Hi there Kristine, Mark and Deb,

Thank you so much for meeting with us this morning to go over the IEP.

We are so grateful for all that everyone is doing to support lachlan. We've never had this much support from school before so it really is appreciated.

Mark is doing an amazing job with lachlan and it's so exciting to see his progress.

If there Is anything that we can do to help please let us know.

Well done Mark.   Isn't it great to have parents take the time to let us know what they are happy with.

Gratitude from a parent- Little Lunch!

Yesterday one of my parents of a student in my class ordered me a Little Lunch - which wasn't so little - it was amazing and what a wonderful appreciative gesture to make!

I am thoroughly impressed with this random act of kindness appreciation for the work I have done so far - thank you! It was delicious!

digital file storage - organising the teacher life

Here is my handy tip for all new teachers out there, and perhaps anyone who hasn't done this before!
Forget about loads and loads of storage boxes - get yourself an external hard drive, you could start off with a USB. Create subject folders and then sub folders withing each subject folder. Scan any paper tasks you have and file them, save pdf's and video files.
I have a teaching resource digital collection of 250gb! See sample screenshots attached.
Another tip if you have a DVD recorder hard drive, record news and any relevant educational programmes- convert to digital files and save into your collection for educational use.
Enjoy and many thanks for reading this tip.
